The bipartisan USA Iraq Study Group reached a consensus Wednesday on a final report that would call for a gradual pullback of 15 American combat brigades now in Iraq but stopped short of setting a firm timetable for their withdrawal. This is a slap in the face of George bush, even his supporters are telling him that the troops should leave Iraq. However, this may be a double bluff! If you read the fine detail of this report it actually recommends keeping 70,000 troops in Iraq after 2007 for logistics! 70,000 troops for logistics, that's a lot of troops to remain in a country that you are planning to leave in a few years time. The most encouraging part of the report is the recommendation that the USA should open lines of dialogue with Syria and Iran, this is something that bush has always rejected.

I hope the neoconservatives in the USA are exposed for what they are, evil, war mongering politicians with a long term objective to render the middle east into their playing ground.

70,000 troops no doubt required to protect stolen resources plundered by Cheney & the huge US corporations who have most benefitted from genocide caused in Iraq by Bush/Blair fundamentalist Christians. Also to ensure Iraq is never free again to stand up against the West and Israel.
